1 unbaked pie crust
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
1 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/4 cup flour
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f and place your pie shell on a pie plate.
Refrigerate the dough until able to use.
In a bowl, mix the sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, salt, buttermilk, juice, and lemon peel.
Add the flour and blend well.
Pour the filling into the unbaked pie shell.
Bake within the oven for 1 hour.
Normally, the pie doesn’t seem to be fully cooked inside.
Let it rest for 45 minutes before cutting.
